Problem
Home to the world’s most recognizable news outlet, the CNN Center in Atlanta was determined to “harden” its perimeter as a result of 9/11. Turner Properties had one goal summed up best by the facilities management team, “We need to stay on the air, and we need to protect our most important assets – our people”. With thousands of panes of glass on the interior of the mall, Turner Properties turned to 3M and Window Expert to help protect its people from the deadly effects of flying glass in case of a blast event.

Solution
After studying proposals from over a half dozen security glazing firms, Turner Properties chose Window Expert of Marietta and 3M to help make the CNN Center a safer environment. Because of the ongoing threat, we are careful not to reveal the passive, defensive measures our Window Expert team installed on the property. What is public knowledge is that Turner Properties did not hesitate to purchase the best security solutions for the CNN Center. Turner Properties’ choice did reveal how seriously they take today’s threat and the superior nature of 3M micro-layered security films.
